Educational Field Trips in Louisiana: The Degas House

We offer fun, memorable, and educational field trips at Degas House. Students will experience and learn about the personal side of the great French Impressionist Master, Edgar Degas. In the unique setting of Edgar Degas' New Orleans home and private studio, students will learn about the life and work of the artist through discovery-oriented activities and cross-curricular connections with history, science, art and music. Come see the exact rooms where he painted his masterpieces and enjoy the beautiful, historic personality of our property.

Our museum is exciting for students of all ages, and students enjoy getting an intimate tour of the house and seeing the famous rooms from Degas' paintings. Field trips are guided by the great-grand niece of the painter himself.

Once your field trip is booked, Pre-visit Activities will be sent along with bus parking and drop-off information:

  • Field trips are offered with specific age-appropriate activities
  • Preferred tour times are 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
  • Optional breakfast buffet at 9 am can be added
